Music: The EMOtional Playlist

You’ve probably heard the term “emo” being used to describe someone who seems to dwell in angst; emo is short for the word emotional. Emo people, similar to Cancerians tend to be extremely emotional and introverted. The emo lifestyle became mainstream in the early 2000’s but has been around for way longer, it’s basically a goth subculture. 

Feelings of anger, lost, regret, sadness, heartache and/or etc. can all be very difficult to get past and it oftentimes feels impossible in the moment, but with the right resources and self-motivation it definitely can be done. 

Being a “self proclaimed” self-care advocate, I think it’s important to find healthy forms of self-expression; music, painting, poetry and tons of other hobbies can aid in this. Speaking of music and us emo people, National Emo Day is December 19th and to celebrate, here are some of my favorite emo-ish songs (also on Spotify):
