You might not know it but Houston has helped produce some of the most talented artist you know like designer Tom Ford, singer Johnny Nash, singer Beyoncé, actress Renée Zellweger and the lead star in my favorite movie of all time...the late actor Patrick Swayze. The next time you're in the Houston, Texas area be sure to stop by some of the incredible museums H-town has to offer. The Houston museum district is made up of over a dozen different museums with a lot of history and cool facts to offer. Visit their website for hours of operation and admission cost.
Money Saving Tip: Thursday is the day for free admission to many of Houston’s museums but check with the museum to be sure before you head out there.
Also, you can be on the watch for a new Houston museum this Fall because earlier this year Houston announced that they are planning to design and unveil a monument in honor of Beyoncé, who grew up in Houston. Proceeds will be donated to charities, including Music for America and Beyoncé’s Survivor Foundation (for victims of natural disasters). The monument is planned to be unveil on September 4th – Beyoncé’s birthday.
