Visiting Texas: Luby's New Kid Menu

Hey Butterflies! Me and the kiddo had the opportunity to take a behind the counter tour of the kitchen at Luby's yesterday and it was a pretty cool experience. I've been a customer of Luby's for as far back as I can remember, so learning about the history of Luby's and how the food is prepared was very interesting. The fact that the food at Luby's is made from scratch fresh every day is exciting to know.

Although there was plenty of food to choose from, our focus was on the new kids menu items at Luby's. The new kid menu items that were sampled were the turkey burger, wheat mac & cheese, and grilled chicken strips. Let me start by saying I'm not a huge fan of turkey, I tried turkey bacon once in the past and it just wasn't for my taste buds. However, I decided to try the burger anyway and surprisingly it was pretty decent; he mac & cheese and grilled strips were good as well. There was a vegetarian mom with her kid who was also vegetarian on the kitchen tour and though I don't see myself becoming vegetarian anytime soon, the fact that there were so many meal options for them to choose from intrigued me. As a parent and someone who tries to live a health conscious lifestyle, I think healthy meal options are very important and I'm glad Luby's is on board with that. The next time you're craving a home-cooked meal when you're out, stop by Luby's and tell them ButterflyLifeStyle.com sent you!
