Visiting Texas: Things to Do in Kemah

Butterflies if you’re looking for something fun to do in the Houston area, plan a day trip to Kemah, Texas. We visited Kemah last year for spring break; we enjoyed some delicious food, had lots of fun and made some new memories. Check out some of the stops we made while in Kemah and a few other interesting things to do in the area:

Kemah Boardwalk | The Kemah Boardwalk is Kemah’s main attraction, it’s jammed pack with food, fun, and shopping year round. Wear something comfortable and be prepared to pay for parking.

The Aquarium | Located on the boardwalk, explore sea-life while getting a bite to eat at The Aquarium or just visit the stingray exhibit and gift shop.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Company | Also located on the boardwalk, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is one of my favorite themed restaurants in Texas and not just because Forest Gump is my favorite Tom Hanks film. The food is delicious and the view of the gulf coast while dining on the deck is a beautiful site to experience.

San Jacinto Monument | Battlefield turned memorial and museum for those who fought for the independence of Texas…only a few minutes away in La Porte.

Monument Inn | Also located in La Porte, Monument Inn serves up fresh seafood in a dining room overlooking the Houston Ship Channel…get a up close view of large ships passing through.

Main Event | Arcades, mini golf, karaoke, billiards, laser tag, bowling and so much more…Main Event is a few minutes away in Webster.

Space Center Houston | Museum and visitor center for NASA Space Center.

Galveston Island | One of Houston’s favorite beach towns is less than a hour away…check out my favorite things to do on Galveston Island.
