I had a moment of feeling extremely overwhelmed by life at work the other day and one of my coworkers gave me a hug. It was a nice gesture and I’m grateful for that moment. What recent moment are you grateful for?

30 Days of Gratitude 2018
The shower. Second after writing, the shower is also very therapeutic for me. It’s where I get to enjoy alone time (well most of the time, moms know what I mean lol), relax, think and figure things out. What small thing you use every day are you grateful for?

Day 26: What act of self-love are you grateful for?
Labels:
30 Days of Gratitude 2018
I just realized like two days ago that it’s time to let go of a toxic friendship that I’ve tried to hold on to for the past almost twenty years. It hurts but it’s necessary and I’m grateful for that realization and for loving myself more than the idea of comfort.

Day 24: What financial lesson are you grateful for?
Labels:
30 Days of Gratitude 2018
There are so many financial lessons that I learnt in recent years, none of which I was exposed to growing up, but I guess the most recent financial lesson I learned was that it’s ok to live a little while being mindful of your budget and credit. I was on my best financial behavior for two years straight, this year I decided to live a little...just a little though lol, I’m still somewhat optimistic about my future goals.

Day 23: What taste are you grateful for?
Labels:
30 Days of Gratitude 2018
My moms food. No food cooked anywhere, ever is better than the taste of my moms food. She’s creole, and cooks from her soul. Her legumes and gumbos are two of my favorite dishes she makes.

Labels:
30 Days of Gratitude 2018
A song from this year that I’m grateful for? Easy...No Tears Left to Cry by Ariana Grande, I freaking love that song. Every time I hear it I feel at peace.

Day 20: What personal trait or characteristics or you grateful for?
Labels:
30 Days of Gratitude 2018
For the most part I’m an introvert and I usually tend to isolate myself from people but when I do interact, I’m open and sincere. A lot of people will pretend to be someone or something they’re not and only deal with a person because they have an ulterior motive, I try not to be that kind of person and I’m proud of that. So I guess I’m grateful for my openness and sincerity.

Day 14: What spiritual practice are you grateful for?
Labels:
30 Days of Gratitude 2018
Some people attend worship services regularly, some fast, some minister, some shout, some praise dance and others rejoice in song but the spiritual practice I enjoy the most and am extremely grateful for is Prayer. It’s intimate; only between you and your higher being and can be done at anytime or anyplace. What spiritual practice are you grateful for?

Day 12: Which of your senses are you most thankful for?
Labels:
30 Days of Gratitude 2018
Sight, Smell, Sound, Taste, or Touch? This is a tough one for me, I mean they each serve a unique purpose in our everyday lives that shouldn’t be taken for granted. I guess I forget or just don’t think about how much I depend on my senses to get me through each day; I can’t pick one, I’m thankful for all of my senses.

Day 11: What holiday are you thankful for?
Labels:
30 Days of Gratitude 2018
My favorite holidays are Halloween and Valentines Day. I appreciate Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Thanksgiving but I’d have to say the holiday that I’m thankful for is New Year’s Day. I’m thankful for New Year’s more than any other holiday because I consider it a huge blessing to be able to set eyes on a new day and an even bigger one to gaze upon a new year.
Butterflies, what holiday are you thankful for?
