Welcome to my blog! I'm Mika "Dione" Gray, Houston based event specialist, blogger/writer, mom, wife, and a "F6 Fanatic" (faith, family, fashion, fitness, food and fun)! My vision for this blog is to write about and discuss an array of topics which are apart of my everyday life in some way and I'm sure yours too.

For the most part (without limiting myself to just these topics) my blog will feature post about Life, Self Growth, Family, Cooking, Budgeting, Art, Party Planning, Event/Wedding Trends and Planning, Concerts, Music, Beauty, Fashion, and Fitness. I will also include reviews on products I have tried, books I have read, movies I have seen, and events I have attended. I will NEVER review a product I have never used.

It is also my vision to feature other bloggers on this blog from time to time so if you are a blogger like myself or know of any please leave a comment below and we will be in touch.

I look forward to having you as my readers!

Beauty Trends: I'm Going Natural...I Think

Butterflies, natural hair seems to be what everyone is talking about these days and I have to admit I'm curious. I have been thinking about it for a while and since my hair is already cut really short I'm thinking why not? I got my last relaxer in May of this year and once my hair stared to grow out I got micro braids and have been rocking them ever since (getting them redone every few weeks of course). I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a world of new growth once these braids are out. I've been getting relaxers pretty much as far back as I can remember so this should be a very interesting experience for me but I guess I won't know for sure until these braids are out. What are your natural hair thoughts? Please share your thoughts, tips and suggestions in the comment section below.

Book: Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey

Butterflies, on my last visit to Half Priced books I picked up a couple of books from my reading list and without spoiling it for you I will share my opinion of the first book " Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man" by Comedian/Actor and Author Steve Harvey. To sum it up in just a few words this is a self help book written for women designed to assist with the troubles of dating, relationships and finding the right person. At first glance of the title you would think to yourself that it's pretty self explanatory when in fact it's not! In this book Steve Harvey breaks it down step by step giving you the when, what, where, and how. Mr. Harvey’s inspiration for this book was his daughters. Seeing their relationship downfalls inspired him to help all women by providing them with insight into how men think. My favorite chapters are three and nine. My favorite point that Mr. Harvey makes is that if a man truly loves you and wants/see’s you as his woman he will do three things: 1.) Protect, 2.) Profess, 3.) Provide.
