Beauty Trends: My 2yr Natural Hair Anniversary + The Pros & Cons of Natural Hair

Hey Butterflies! I can't believe it's my two year Hairversary already, it has defiantly been an interesting journey. I know each individuals hair texture is unique and varies from family member to family member but, genetics plays a huge part in our physical make-up and that includes our hair. My great-grandmother (maternal) was Native-American (Blackfoot...I think), most of my mom's family were/are Louisiana Native American and or Creole and my dad's side is originally from Texas.

Anyway, I said all that to say, like most of my family members I have naturally reddish-brown and very soft textured hair that's also very curly. Going natural made it easier for me to finally try Bantu Knots (photo above) and it inspired me to go red again (photo bottom right), I haven't been red since high school!

My current favorite product is the Optimum Care Heat Protector (photo bottom left) which I use on days I feel like switching it up. Also since going natural I have learned so much about my hair which lead me to compile a list of my natural hair pros and cons. My Natural Hair Pros: get up and go hair styles, getting to rock my natural curls, not having to spend money for styling and relaxers, and increased hair growth. My Natural Hair Cons: dry hair, TANGLES, over oily hair, skin, clothes and pillow cases, smooth styles are a no go.

Please keep in mind that these are just my opinions of my hair experiences, feel free to share your comments, thoughts and opinions below.
