Butterfly Mommies!! We celebrated my little human’s birthday this past weekend, it was so cute and lots of fun. There were handcrafted party boutique shopping bags I made using craft bags I picked up from the local craft store and cutouts of the Birthday Princess's initials to give the party a more personalized look.

Event Committee

Duties

Assist with the preparation, planning, coordination and control of all HAEVP meetings and events. Helps locate vendors for upcoming events. Helps develops event ideas, themes, and concepts and reports directly to the committee chair.

Requirements

Must be a current member of HAEVP, have some form of event planning experience, be able to communicate with team regularly and attend meetings as requested.

Public Relations & Marketing Committee

Duties

Assist with coordinating the promotion of products, services and the public image of HAEVP. Helps prepare marketing material and press releases. Help research and locate public outlets to market HAEVP and upcoming events. Helps develop articles for publication, professional magazines, journals, newspapers and other news media and reports directly to the committee chair.

Requirements

Must be a current member of HAEVP, have some form of marketing, promotion or public relation experience, be able to communicate with team regularly and attend meetings as requested.

Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. Center

On Wednesday, August 10, 2011 the Houston Area Event Vendors & Professionals had the honor of hosting a donation drive benefiting Houston’s own Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. Center. This drive was to help the Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. Center collect school supply items needed for their "Back-to-School" community school supply give away that will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2011. Thank you to those who came out to show your support!

Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. was founded in 1990 by Sylvia Bolling. During the first 5 years of operation, Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. had very few resources to work with…there was no facility, no paid staff, and very limited funds. By establishing valuable community partnerships, the agency’s founder, Sylvia Bolling, took the then fledgling community-based organization from her home to its current facility.
