New Year’s Eve In + Sparkling Wines Under $15

Butterflies, since New Year’s Eve is a few hours away let me start by saying...alcohol should only be consumed by adults aged 21 years or older who can do so responsibly AND discharging firearms in the air for fun is not what’s up. With that being said...OMG it’s almost 2018! I’m not complaining one bit, I’m gratefully looking forward to another year. I’m still trying to recover from the Christmas hustle and bustle so I think I’m going to stay in with the kiddo and guy and just take it easy. We’ll probably play a few games, eat some tacos, pop some bottles of sparkling wine and sparkling apple juice and light some fireworks. What are you guys doing for New Year’s Eve?

If you’re thinking about celebrating the new year with some bubbly, here are a few of my favorite inexpensive sparkling wines.

Beviamo Moscato d'Asti - Although it doesn’t have a lot of bubbles (unless you shake the crap out of it), it does have a few and it has a refreshing, lightly sweetened taste and doesn’t leave behind a bitter taste.  Beviamo Moscato d'Asti is produced in Italy and is the perfect drink for those who don’t really care for alcohol, it only has 5.5% alcohol by volume so it’s not too strong at all. I discovered this wine brand while looking for something new to try for me and the guy’s anniversary about four or five years ago I think and it is still one of my favorites. I usually pick up a bottle for about $12 at Sam’s Club.

Alan Christopher Sparkling Peach I discovered this brand three years ago, I was looking for something bubbly and inexpensive to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2014 when I came across this golden product of France. Alan Christopher Sparkling Peach has 11% alcohol by volume with a soft fruity taste. I usually purchase this wine at Spec’s for about $12.

Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut Cava - This is one of my most recent favorites; produced in Spain with a alcohol by volume of 12%. Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut Cava is nicknamed after my favorite color, “Black Bottle Bubbly”; it has a dry taste that kind of lingers but it’s refreshing at the same time. It’s about $11 at Walmart.

Wine Fun Facts

-The minimum amount of alcohol by volume a bottle of wine can contain is 5.5%.
- Wine can only be labeled champagne if it’s bottle within 100 miles of Champagne, France.
