Around the World from Home: Date Night at Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting

Butterflies, I recently attended a tequila tasting for date night and it was so much fun. Tequila is a product of Mexico and is one of the world’s most recognized and favored spirits. Ironically, Mexico City is one of my travel goals…I’m looking forward to touring the tequila and Frida Kahlo museums while visiting. Until then, I’ll continue to enjoy my tequila drinks here in Texas.

The Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting event hosted by Food & Vine Time provided attendees the opportunity to meet brand ambassadors and passionate educators who shared their unique craft products. This Pre-Cinco de Mayo celebration gave guests the opportunity to try different tequilas and mezcal tastings served both neat as well as in cocktails and pick up some pretty sweet tequila swag. Showcased tequila brands included: Mijenta, Duce Vida, Milagro, Ghost, Gem & Bolt, Próspero, Maestro Dobel, Republic and a load of others.

Our all-inclusive ticket also included access to the Cigar & Beer Lounge featuring Lucho Cigars, Freetail Brewing Co. Pickle Beer and Rebel Hard Cider. Gourmet nachos from Catering by Norris, tequila-infused shrimp by Mason's Creative Catering, special chef-inspired selections from Goya Foods, and Torchy's Tacos and my personal favorite...chicken and sausage gumbo from BB’s Tex-Orleans.
