Beauty Trends: Nexxus Salon Hair Care Products

Butterflies, as promised in my previous post about the Nexxus Hair Care products that I purchased from CVS for really cheap, here's my update/review of the two items I purchased. This was my first time using Nexxus products and for the most part I really liked both products. The Nexxus Salon Hair Care Frizz Defy FrizzProtection Styling Creme really helped with my flyaways and I would defiantly purchase this one again.

Now as for the Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner I think this was a one time thing for me. I honestly didn't notice a major difference in my hair compared to me using a less expensive conditioner. This also could be because I didn't get to use the full bottle. I used this conditioner once maybe twice before it cracked at the top and spilled out all over everything in my bathroom closet. The upside is that I contacted the manufacture to express my concerns about this product and they did agree to replace it.

Overall I think Nexxus brand is a good hair care brand and I really give the FrizzProtection Styling Crème two thumbs up, however my bad experience with their Humectress product packaging has me a little skeptical about purchasing any other Nexxus products.

Visiting Texas: 2012 Texas Contemporary Art Fair

Butterflies, the 2012 Texas Contemporary Art Fair ran from October 18th to 21st at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Yesterday I had the pleasure of hanging out at the FotoFest exhibit and enjoying an afternoon full of art! Here are some of my favorite pieces...

Bargain Shopping: Beauty Products of the Week & Last Mintue Savings @ CVS

I'm so excited I had to share,  I picked up two new hair products from CVS this week and paid under $2 for the both of them. I'll be posting a review of them this coming week but here's how I saved...

CVS sent me a coupon for -$3.00 off any Nexxus hair care product (for my b-day July 12th #cancer), the coupon dispenser at CVS printed me a coupon for -$3.00 off a $15.00 beauty product purchase, and this week CVS has a deal on Nexxus hair care products, if you spend $20.00 or more you get a -$10.00 RR (to be used for next purchase) and if you've ever purchased any Nexxus products you know they are pretty pricey. Anyway while I was in line to check out I got an email from CVS with a 25% coupon (I was all like YAY!, I love saving $).

Money Saving Tip: The Nexxus deal ends today 8/4 but will be apart of next week's sale as well, if you're a loyal CVS shopper check your shopper card for additional savings.

Regular Price:

Nexxus Salon Hair Care Frizz Defy FrizzProtection Styling Creme $11.99

Nexxus Humectress Ultimate MoisturizingConditioner $9.39

Discount:

$21.38-$3.00 + -$3.00 + -25% + -$10.00

Total Out of Pocket:

Visiting Texas: The Houston Museum District

You might not know it but Houston has helped produce some of the most talented artist you know like designer Tom Ford, singer Johnny Nash, singer Beyoncé, actress Renée Zellweger and the lead star in my favorite movie of all time...the late actor Patrick Swayze. The next time you're in the Houston, Texas area be sure to stop by some of the incredible museums  H-town has to offer. The Houston museum district is made up of over a dozen different museums with a lot of history and cool facts to offer. Checkout my some of my favorite Houston area museums below, visit each museum’s website for hours of operation, admission cost and other important information.

Occasionally, admission for some of these museums can be purchased at a discount on Groupon so be sure to do a little research before you plan your next museum adventure.

Money Saving Tip: Thursday is the day for free admission to many of Houston’s museums but check with the museum to be sure before you head out there.
