Visiting Texas: Luby's New Kid Menu

Hey Butterflies! Me and the kiddo had the opportunity to take a behind the counter tour of the kitchen at Luby's yesterday and it was a pretty cool experience. I've been a customer of Luby's for as far back as I can remember, so learning about the history of Luby's and how the food is prepared was very interesting. The fact that the food at Luby's is made from scratch fresh every day is exciting to know.

In the Kitchen: Fruit Sangria

Hola Butterflies...Happy Sunday! I just finished prepping for next week and now I'm in the mood for a sangria. I didn't feel like going out so I decided to stay in and save a few bucks by making my own sangria at mi casa. This recipe is perfect if you're craving something fruity and refreshing with just a hint of alcohol!

Ingredients:
  • 1-2 cups of red wine
  • 1/2 orange cut into wedges
  • 1/2 lime cut into wedges
  • 1 shots of Peach Ciroc Vodka *optional
  • 1/4 cup of frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of frozen blackberries
  • 1/4 cup of frozen diced pineapples

Music: I Want to Know What Love Is | Foreigner or Mariah Carey?

Butterflies! So my post a few days ago about love has had me thinking about one of my favorite Mariah Carey songs "I Want to Know What Love Is" all week, I literally can't get this song off my mind. Love never gets old, I mean who doesn't want to be loved on? Even the toughest of the hardest people secretly desire to be loved and that's why I feel this is a timeless track. It was originally performed by the 70's rock group Foreigner; from their 1979 Head Games album. I like both versions of the song...it's a great song. What do you think...who did it better?
