Visiting Texas: 3 Reasons I'm Really Looking Forward to This Year's Comicpalooza

Hey Butterflies! It's that time of year again...it's Comicpalooza time! If you have no idea what I'm talking about just keep reading; the Texas International Comic Convention known as Comicpalooza is a annual multi-format pop culture convention geared towards the fans of comics, science fiction, fantasy, video and table top gaming, anime, and music and film. This year's convention will take place Friday, June 17th - Sunday, June 19th at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. I've been attending Comicpalooza every year since 2013 and it gets better each year. The convention has something fun for adults and kids of all ages.

Here's what I'm looking forward to this year...
1. The Cosplay

The amount of art and creativity that is on display at the convention is truly amazing. From handcrafted art of your favorite super heroes and anime characters to fans dressed in costumes of your favorite super heroes (and villains); Comicpalooza is the comic/art lovers dream. To me the best thing about Comicpalooza is all the cosplay that takes place during the convention, there's always something new to see. I can't wait to see everyone all dressed up this year.

2. Panel Discussions + Meet & Greets

Since I've been attending the conference I have yet to take advantage of the many panel discussions and meet & greet opportunities offered. Last year I planned to meet Stan Lee but that didn't happen due to timing and there being so much to do. This year however I definitely will try to sit in on one of the literature discussions and even though I'm sure my list will grow as we get closer to the event, one person I have to see this year is Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar, Ghostbusters) and I'm sure my kid would love to see Zach Callison who is the voice of Steven on Steven Universe (my kid loves that show). For a full list of scheduled panels and celebrity guest appearances and to purchase tickets visit Comicpalooza.com. Also, let me know what or who you're looking forward to seeing at Comicpalooza this year @BellePrincessTX.

3. Shopping...I Really Want a Light-Saber

Every year I come home with all sorts of cool finds and this year will be no different. In last year's post-con wrap up I told you guys about the light sabers that  were for sale at the convention and that I really wanted one, well I hope the same company is vending again this year because I'm looking forward to getting my saber.
